colours.

Over the past two weeks I have had cerise hands, tangerine hands, lilac hands,  scarlet hands and many other unhealthy shades of skin. Our kitchen has been looking a little like a science lab with bowls of brightly coloured water covering every surface.  I have been dyeing fabrics for a new spring collection, as next month I am submitting a few pieces for a spring racing exhibition.

It has actually been quite a challenge for me working with colours as I rarely work outside of my muted pallette.  I am enjoying it… except when I keep getting shades of pink instead of red!!!

Here I have posted some photos I have taken along the way and a botanical illustration which I found here that I have used for some colour inspiration.

….. I’m afraid it will be a few more weeks before I can share the finished pieces, but I will post some more snippets.
