feathers.

I have been quite absent from blog land lately as I’m currently working on a large order to make over 400 handmade orchids.  It seems to have taken over the whole apartment with dyeing happening in the kitchen, stiffening in the bathroom, cutting in our lounge area, and the dining table buried under stock!  I’m preparing to start dyeing another batch of fabrics this week,  but thought I would  just upload these photos I took whilst having a break from working with so much pink!

a selection of some of my favourite feathers from my collection.

  1. They are amazing. Also your flora.

  2. Your feathers are so lovely bianca I can almost feel their soft touch. I love how you’ve styled them too.

oooh I love these images!! It’s amazing how something so small (such as an orchid) could take up sooo much room.

  4. Am I right in thinking these are pheasant feathers? They remind me so much of my childhood, growing up as I did with my father’s obsession of breeding rare and endangered species of these birds. Nice collection. ….and guinea fowl?
